Visit of IBC Delegation to the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil

IBC delegation visited on Sunday February 1st 2016 the new Iraqi Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil at the Iraqi Embassy Headquarters in Amman.

The delegation included IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, Vice Chairman and Board member Mr. Turkey Al-Qaisi and a number of Board members; Mr. Usama Al-Quraishi, Mr. Mekki Al-Faiez, Mr. Muhammad Al-Sarraf, Mr. Nazar Awchi and Mrs. Wasan Al-Khafaji, in addition to IBC member Dr. Ahmed Talib Al-Jubouri and IBC CEO. The meeting was also attended by the new Iraqi Commercial Attaché in Jordan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador welcomed IBC delegation and commended IBC achievements, its major role in promoting the economic ties with all competent parties and its endeavors to promote the Iraqi economy.

The Ambassador also praised the major role of IBC and the distinguished care it provides to the Iraqi community in Jordan in a number of fields such as the humanitarian, health, cultural and social fields.

During the meeting, IBC Chairman and members congratulated Mrs. Al-Siheil on the assuming her duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi elaborated on the goals and objectives of establishing IBC and its significant role in promoting the Iraqi – Jordanian economic relations, the main achievements realized by IBC such as the proposal of exporting Iraqi oil through Aqaba Port (Strategic Pipeline Project between Iraq and Jordan) which provides a new export outlet and contributes at the same time to meet Jordan needs for oil.

Dr. Saedi further reviewed the volume of Iraqi investments in Jordan and other countries.
Also, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji spoke of the programs, humanitarian and cultural projects extended by IBC to the Iraqi community in Jordan since its establishment and the obstacles facing investors especially the obtainment of entry visas for experts and employees working in the members’ companies to visit Iraq which has lately become a very complicated process.

On her part, the Ambassador promised to facilitate the process of granting entry visas to experts and members’ companies employees to travel to Iraq upon provision of a confirmation letter by IBC concerning the company requesting visas.

Mr. Saad Naji further spoke of the projects established by IBC in partnership with the international organizations and missions such as ESCWA and UNDP, and IBC role in establishing the Initiative of Companies Social Responsibility in Iraq and launching a number of programs and projects that aim to serve the local society.

At the end of the meeting the two sides exchanged thanks on organizing this meeting and agreed to organize further regular meetings with the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan to discuss the proposals and projects presented by IBC.
