Iraqi Business Council – Jordan was originated under His Majesty’s King Abdullah II wise economic and social policies, which policies drove forward the wheel of development through His Majesty’s constant support to Iraqi investors in the Kingdom, provision of healthy and suitable environment for their investments and elimination of all difficulties encountering their investments in Jordan.
The idea of establishing IBC generated as a result of many factors among which the deep-rooted and steadily increasing Iraqi investments in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This was one of most important indications that prompted a group of pioneering Iraqi investors in the Kingdom join forces to form one entity bringing them together and providing them with a healthy space to frame their investments on realistic and scientific foundations to develop and diversify these investments.
The key objectives of IBC include encouragement of communication and formation of close bonds between the Jordanian society and the Iraqi community residing in Jordan. IBC will endeavor, in cooperation with the official and semi official authorities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to eliminate the difficulties encountering the Iraqi investors. IBC will further support the health care programs and humanitarian aids for the Iraqi community residing in Jordan, attend to Iraqi competencies residing in the Kingdom, in addition to activating the social bonds between the Iraqi business community in Jordan through presentation of cultural events and various social assemblies. It is IBC’s plan to start an economic Studies Center, preparation of feasibility studies and studies relating to investment opportunities in the Kingdom and Iraq, IBC will also promote wider economic cooperation between Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Furthermore, IBC will endeavor to promote accessible investment opportunities in Jordan and Iraq by means of trade fairs, conferences, establishment of companies or institutes, and promotion of Jordanian – Iraqi relationships that aim at implementing joint key projects in the two countries.
Among Iraqi Business Council aspirations is supporting the Iraqi businesswomen in Jordan, whereas IBC includes a number of leading businesswomen who will contribute to the development of the investment environment of Iraqi businesswomen in Jordan. Our plans are quite immense and ambitious, and we do look forward to implementing these plans through work teams working in groups in the aim of achieving the best results in the interest of the Iraqi investors community in Jordan, which plan requires massive participation of all members in IBC activities and its numerous work teams.
A final statement that has to be made is that IBC was formed with membership of Iraqi members, or those of Iraqi origin, that became united and bonded by the love of Iraq and the love of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan away from any political, religious or sectarian interference, taking into consideration the economic and social interests of both countries, which is a justified aspiration of investors who well realized that a free economy is the key to crisis solving.
Finally, we would extend our appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II and all officials in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for their continued support to the Iraqi investors community in Jordan, asking God Almighty to bless the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Iraq with prosperity, progress and well-being.
