Participation of IBC Delegation in a Consultation Meeting to Launch an Economic Iraqi – Jordanian Entity

A delegation of IBC members participated on Tuesday April 18th 2017 at the Head Offices of Amman Chamber of Commerce in a consultation meeting to launch an economic Iraqi – Jordanian entity. IBC delegation included IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board members Messrs.

Turkey Qaisi, Muhammad Jawad Jubouri, Mekki Faiz, Khalil Bunniya, Ali Ghalib Khafaji, Usama Quraishi, Ahmed Sarraf and Mumtaz Taie and IBC member and Social Responsibility Advisor Dr. Amila Naji.

During the meeting, the participants pointed out the importance of exchanging trade fairs between the two countries and organizing a Jordanian – Iraqi investment forum annually, as well as participation of the Jordanian companies in investment opportunities of hospitals under construction projects and granting management of such hospitals to Jordanian cadres in the interest of both parties.

The participants stressed the necessity of concluding partnerships for projects in vital sectors through promoting the role of this economic entity to define the investment opportunities and potentials available in the two neighboring countries, in addition to exchanging information on laws, trade and industrial production movement, export and exchanging periodic bulletins that are issued by IBC and the Trade and Industry Chambers.

The participants pointed out the necessity of the Jordanian companies taking part in housing projects within a common mechanism that realize the objectives of both parties, allowing the Jordanian companies to work within the logistic territory on the Jordanian – Iraqi borders, establishing common land ports that would facilitate the flow of goods and commodities, in addition to strengthening joint cooperation between the two countries by increasing recruitment of the Jordanian cadres and benefiting from the Iraqi expertise.

IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, and IBC Board members; Messrs. Muhammad Awad Jubouri and Mekki Faiz were selected within a five-member committee to develop perceptions and rules of procedures of the proposed entity.
On the side of the Iraqi government, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Siheil and the Director General of the Iraqi Border Ports Major Sami Sudani took part in the meeting.

On the side of the Iraqi private sector, President of the Iraqi Trade Chambers of Commerce Mr. Jafar Hamdani and President of the Iraqi National Business Council Mr. Daoud Abed Zayer and member of the Iraqi National Business Council Mr. Falah Aftan participated in the meeting, and from the Jordanian side, President of Jordan Chamber of Commerce MP Naiel Kabariti, President of Jordan Chamber of Industry Mr. Adnan Abu Al-Raghib participated in this meeting, as well as a large number of chairmen and members of chambers, unions and associations

 

Consultation Conference between Professional Business Organizations

IBC hosted on Monday April 17th, 2017 at the Grand Millennium Amman Hotel a Consultation Conference in which a number of Iraqi Professional Business Organizations and Iraqi businessmen participated.

During the meeting the method of promoting economic relations between these Organizations and their Jordanian counterparts were discussed.

During the Conference the attendees agreed on establishing an economic consultative economic entity to assist the Iraqi and Jordanian businessmen and the governments of both countries in Iraq and Jordan aiming at facilitating and developing economic cooperation between both sides.

The Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil participated in this Conference and on IBC side, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and members of IBC Board of Directors; Messrs.

Turjey Qaissi, Muhammad Jawad Jubouri, Mekki Faiz, Khalil Bunniya, Ali Ghablib Khafaji, Usama Quraishi, Ahmed Sarraf, Mumtaz Taie, Mrs. Wassan Khafaji and IBC member and Advisor for Social Responsibility Dr. Amila Naji participated in the Conference.

As on the side of the economic organizations, the meeting was attended by Head of Trade Chambers Federation Mr. Jafar Hamdani, Chairman of the Iraqi National Business Council and Representative of the Iraqi Contractors Federation Mr. Daoud Abid Zayer, Representative of the Iraqi Businessmen Society Mr. Muhammad Hassan Hadithi and the Representative of the Iraqi Industries Federation Mr. Qais Kadhim Khafaji.

 

 

IBC Honors the Prominent Iraqi Musician Ilham Al-Madfai

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), IBC hosted on Thursday April 6th 2017 at the Grand Millennium Hotel – Amman a ceremony to honor the prominent Iraqi musician Mr. Ilham Al-Madfai in recognition of his accomplishments in the original Iraqi singing and his long artistic career.

At the beginning of the ceremony IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi welcomed the present guests noting that this gesture is a culmination of the great Iraqi musician Mr. Al-Madfai’s singing career, during which he presented successful concerts and festivals around the world.

Mr. Al-Madfai is one of the few artists who present authentic art and music as he adapted western instruments to Arabic music.

With that step he contributed to the development of Arabic and traditional Iraqi music and presented to the world to enjoy.

On her part, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil thanked IBC for supporting artists and innovators through its Cultural Program (Ibdaa), and commended Mr. Al-Madfai’s career and his family’s genuineness whose children excelled in the field of architecture.

Afterwards, IBC Chairman Mr. Majid Saedi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, Vice Chairman Mr. Nazar Awchi and IBC Board members; Mr. Mekki Faiz and Mrs. Wasan Khafaji honored Mr. Al-Madfai with the Order of Creativity followed by a documentary about his life produced by IBC Ibdaa Cultural Program and a song by Mr. Al-Madfai to mark this event.

The ceremony also included several songs by singer Human Ibrahim including a new song produced with the support of IBC (I am Iraqi), as a token of his genuine love to his country, Iraq, which he has always carried in his heart and sung for.
The event was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safya Al-Siheil, the Iraqi Embassy’s Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Mustafa Imam, a number of diplomatic, social, artistic and media figures.

On IBC side, the event was attended by a crowd of IBC members and their families, in addition to a large number of television channels and media.
