IBC Hosts Christmas & New Year Bazaar In cooperation with “Together for Charity for Development & Training” Association

In cooperation with “Together for Charity for Development and Training” Association, IBC hosted on Tuesday December 18th 2018 Christmas and New Year Bazaar on IBC Hall under auspices of the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan with the presence of the representatives of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC member and the Social Responsibility Advisor Dr. Amila Naji, CEO of “Together for Charity for Development and Training” Association Mr. Eyad Abbas, along with a crowd of the Iraqi community in Jordan of physicians, academics, artists, activists and volunteers in the humanitarian field who provide medical, academic and financial support throughout the year for the needy families, in addition to the CEO and staff of IBC. 

A number of women, who support their vulnerable families, as well as craftsmen, artisans and producers of dates, leather industries, accessories and embroideries participated in the two-day Bazaar.

The Bazaar was organized to enable women economically, highlight their skills and innovations and market the products to benefit these vulnerable families.

The Bazaar activities were concluded on Wednesday December 19th 2018 with a special ceremony held to honor all supporters of the Bazaar.  On behalf of IBC Chairman, Mr. Omar Saedi presented gifts to all participants of vulnerable families.

Mr. Eyad Abbas thanked IBC Chairman and members for their continuous support extended to vulnerable families and humanitarian activities, and presented certificates of appreciation in an expression of his thanks and appreciation.  The Bazaar activities were covered by TV satellite channels and social media.

The Iraqi Electricity Minister hosted by IBC Jordan

IBC Chairman and Board members hosted on Thursday December 6th 2018 at the Grand Millennium – Amman a dinner banquet in honor of the Iraqi Minister of Electricity Dr. Luay Al-Khateeb during his visit to Jordan in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiyah Al-Siheil.

During the ceremony, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi welcomed the Iraqi Minister, Ambassador and guests expressing optimism of the investors and the Iraqi private sector on the new Cabinet, especially the electricity sector.

For his part, the Iraqi Minister thanked IBC for the invitation, stressing the necessity of carrying out economic reforms and knowledge revolution through the development of education and scientific research sectors, combating administrative corruption and appointment of Iraqi competencies in government departments, stressing the citizen’s role in refraining from bypassing the electrical network to improve its performance and stabilize electricity provided to the people.

Also, the Iraqi Ambassador Mrs. Safiyah Al-Siheil stressed the necessity of the Iraqi private sector to participate in the next phase of the reconstruction and building of Iraq, lauding the Minister’s views and diagnosis of the challenges and methods of overcoming them.

The meeting included a several interventions by IBC members on the mechanism of improving the electricity sector throughout Iraq and formation of specialized field follow up committees by the Ministry of Electricity to identify the crisis facing this sector.

At the end of the ceremony the Iraqi Minister thanked IBC Chairman and members for the invitation.
