Signing of Memorandum of Understanding Between IBC & Jordan Investment Board At Jordan Investment Board Headquarters – Amman

The Iraqi Business Council (IBC) signed on Tuesday 22/1/2013 a Memorandum of Understanding with Jordan Investment Board (JIB) during a ceremony held in this occasion at Jordan Investment Board Headquarters – Amman so as to achieve fruitful cooperation between IBC and JIB in the field of promoting and attracting investments.

The MOU signed between IBC and JIB covered means of cooperation in organizing issues relating to the forthcoming “Basra Works Conference: Basra – Aqaba Strategic Pipeline” that will be held in Amman Millennium Hotel on 16th – 17th February 2013.

The MOU was signed by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi on behalf of IBC, and Dr. Awni Rishoud, acting for JIB CEO, on behalf of JIB.
The signing of MOU ceremony was attended on JIB side by Mr. Elias Farraj – JIB Vice CEO, Mr. Nidhal Dabbas – Head of Investment Department, and a number of Departments representatives, while on IBC side it was attended by Mr. Saad Naji – IBC Secretary-General, Mr. Haleem Hadithi – Board member, a number of member companies representatives, IBC CEO – Mrs. Abeer Naib, IBC staff and a large number of journalists.

 

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.
