Launching of “ Al Wafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative

The Iraqi daily “Al-Sabah” in its issue of September 4th 2018, in addition to a number of news websites and social media sites published yesterday Monday September 3rd 2018 a press news on launching “Al-Wafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative in which IBC President and President of Iraq Reconstruction Forum Dr. Majid Saedi spoke about “Alwafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative and all that would be implemented in the next phase through this initiative to serve our people in Basra Province.

The press conference was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Engineer Mekki Al-Faiz and a large crowd of Iraqi and Jordanian media.

 

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.

The one who carried out the mission of founding is an elite of Iraqi businessmen of recognized competence and abilities. and since the Council’s inception in late 2006, members have worked towards efforts to support Iraqi investments in Jordan. as well as coordination and cooperation with official entities, to find solutions and proposals to overcome obstacles and constraints facing investors s economic, investment and trade cooperation between Jordan and Iraq.

Visit of Zain Telecoms New CEO to IBC

The new CEO of Zain Telecommunications Mr. Fahad Al-Jassim visited on Monday September 3rd, 2018 IBC headquarters.

Mr. Al-Jassim was received by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Engineer Mekki Al—Faiz and IBC CEO Mrs. Abeer Al-Naib.

During the meeting, IBC members congratulated Mr. Al-Jassim on his new post wishing him success and prosperity in his career.

On his part, Mr. Al-Jassim expressed his thanks and appreciation to IBC Chairman and members on organizing the meeting, stressing Zain Telecoms’ interest in promoting cooperation with IBC and providing facilities to its members.

IBC Chairman Dr. Saedi elaborated on “Al-Wafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative and all that would be implemented during the next phase to serve the local community in Basra especially efforts to resolve the issue of water scarcity in Basra.

Mr. Saad Naji reviewed IBC activities in terms of entrepreneurship to increase the youth capabilities and efficiencies to realize sustainable development.

Agreement was made on cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship through the work teams of the Future Leaders Committee (IBC business entrepreneurship sponsor) with Zain Telecoms’ Zink Platform for entrepreneurships.

At the end of the meeting IBC Chairman and members presented Mr. Al-Jassim with IBC’s Sumerian Tree of Life.
