Iraqi Business Council Hosts a Cultural Evening On “Mesopotamia Civilization”

As part of the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), and under the patronage of HRH Princess Alia Bint Al-Hussein, IBC hosted on Wednesday September 25th, 2019 at the Grand Millennium Hotel – Amman a cultural evening on the Civilization of Mesopotamia in cooperation with the team of the British Cultural Anhidwana Association.

The evening included performances in which the “ZIBANG” team that included two storytellers; Badi Obeid and John Peters told tales from the Mesopotamian era such as “Adaba”, “Sidori” and “The Master and the Slave” Tales.

Also, Dr. Martin Worthington, who is a specialist in Ancient Iraqi languages, presented a summary on “A Poor Man From Nippu” film that he had adapted and produced in the Babylonian language and was screened during the evening.
The evening also included an exhibition for artist Hamid Ruweid, which showed copies of a number of works of arts about the civilization of Mesopotamia, on which the artist presented a summary of the symbols and historic indications they included.

The ceremony was attended by IBC Chairman, Board members and members of the General Assembly, elite artists and journalists, in addition to satellite TV channels.

The activity was presented in English and Arabic.

It is noteworthy that (Ibdaa) Cultural Program has promoted the civilization of Mesopotamia in cooperation with (ZIBANG) storytelling team, who held this show for the second year in a row.

 

Iraqi Business Council Hosts the Announcement & Signing Ceremony Of the First Part of a Book Titled “Chatting” By the Media Personality Dr. Majeed Al-Samarraie

As Part of the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), IBC hosted on Monday September 23rd, 2019 at Orfali Gallery – Umm Utheina the signing and announcement ceremony of the first part of the prominent media personality Dr. Majeed Al-Samarraie’s book titled (Chatting) on the sidelines of a question “How Did You See The World?), which was published by (Thakera House for Publishing & Distribution).

At the beginning of the ceremony, which was sponsored by IBC – Jordan and presented by Journalist Muhammad Al-Sayyed Muhsin, who praised in his opening speech the efforts exerted by Dr. Majeed Al-Samarrai where he rephrased his guests’ words and documented in his book.

For his part, Dr. Al-Samarrair said that “his effort is supportive to the documentation of what his guests talked about during his television program, which continued over 13 years on Al-Sharqiyah TV Channel”, during which he had hosted Iraqi innovators in various fields of artistic creativity including singers, journalists, directors, actors, painters, thinkers, etc., who he believed had the right to have their views in answering the question “How Did You See The World?” documented in a book recalling their views.

At the end of the ceremony Dr. Al-Samarraie extended his thanks to IBC for sponsoring and organizing the signing ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil and a number of members of the diplomatic missions at the Embassy.

On IBC side, the ceremony was attended by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi, IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and IBC members; Dr. Amila Naji, Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, Engineer Muhammad Al-Baghdadi, Dr. Muhammad Al-Baldawi, in adition to IBC CEO and staff.

The ceremony was also attended by a crowd of intellectuals, artists, innovators and writers of the Iraqi community and the Jordanian community, in addition to media personalities and satellite TV channels.

Iraqi Artist Hamid Ruweid presents IBC with a Distinctive Work of Art during his visit to Iraqi Business Council Offices

During his visit to IBC offices on Sunday September 15th, 2019, Iraqi Artist Mr. Hamid Ruweid presented IBC with a distinctive work of art made of silver containing inscriptions symbolizing the civilization of Mesopotamia.  The artist was received by IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and IBC CEO.  The meeting also discussed participation of artist Mr. Ruweid in IBC upcoming cultural activities on the civilization of Mesopotamia scheduled to be held on Wednesday September 25th, 2019, as the artist is participating in the upcoming event with a number of works on the civilization of Mesopotamia.
IBC would extend its thanks to artist Mr. Hamid Ruweid for the outstanding work he presented to IBC.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.

The one who carried out the mission of founding is an elite of Iraqi businessmen of recognized competence and abilities. and since the Council’s inception in late 2006, members have worked towards efforts to support Iraqi investments in Jordan. as well as coordination and cooperation with official entities, to find solutions and proposals to overcome obstacles and constraints facing investors s economic, investment and trade cooperation between Jordan and Iraq.

Economic Event: Launching of “Easy Visa” Program to the United Kingdom With the British Embassy for IBC Member Companies

During a meeting held at IBC Headquarters on Thursday September 12th, 2019 with the (UK Business Select) Officer at the British Embassy Visa Section Mrs. Lauris Amarat, an “Easy Visa” Program was launched especially for IBC registered member companies in Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt to grant partners, executives and employees an “Easy Visa” by presentation of one paper only.

The meeting also discussed the steps required to grant visas under this facilitated mechanism and submission of the application will be through IBC, where the mechanism of taking fingerprints will also be available for visa application.

The meeting was attended by IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Mrs. Tamara Daghistani and a number of IBC members; Mr. Hayman Al-Dabbagh, Mr. Faris Al-Safi, Mr. Zaid Al-Safi, Mr. Othman Al-Safi, Dr. Ahad Al-Douri, Mr. Muhammad Al-Husseini and Mr. Zaid Al-Quraishi, in addition representatives of a number of IBC members, IBC CEO and staff.
