يذكر ان فكرة تأسيس مجلس الأعمال العراقي، قد انطلقت بناء على الرغبة المشتركة التي تولدت لدى عدد من النخبة، والذين هم من المستثمرين و رجال الأعمال العراقيين المتواجدين على أرض المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، حيث اجمعوا على أهمية تكوين مرجعية اقتصادية لهم،  وكذلك لمن يرغب بالانضمام إليهم ، بما يسهم في تضافر جهودهم و توحيدها، وذلك لتعظيم الاستثمار العراقي في الأردن، وكذلك المساهمة الفاعلة في البناء والاعمار في العراق.

وقد وجدت فكرة تأسيس مجلس الأعمال العراقي صدىً طيباً، ومباركة من لدن حكومة المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، لذلك حصلت موافقة الجهات الأردنية المختصة مشكورة، على أطلاق مجلس الأعمال العراقي في الأردن.

إن الذي نهض بمهمة التأسيس هم نخبة من رجال الأعمال العراقيين المشهود لهم بالكفاءة والاقتدار. كما انه ومنذ انطلاقة المجلس في أواخر عام 2006، عمل الأعضاء على بذل الجهود التي تدعم الاستثمارات العراقية في الأردن. وكذلك التنسيق والتعاون مع الجهات الرسمية، وذلك لإيجاد حلول ومقترحات لتذليل العقبات والمعوقات التي تواجه المستثمرين.

Economic event: Major Achievement of the Iraqi Business Council To Serve its Members & Iraqi Investors in Jordan

Based on a series of meetings held with H.E. the Jordanian Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, and the ministerial team in the Jordanian government, and the meeting that was held later with the Head and members of the Parliamentary Economy & Investment Committee in the Jordanian House of Representatives, and in accordance with the recommendations of the Iraqi Business Council that were submitted to the Jordanian Prime Ministry, the Jordanian Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr A;-Khasawneh, approved a package of measures related to employment for spouses and children of non-Jordanian investors, and as follows :-

  • Allow spouses and children of non-Jordanian investors holders of investment cards issued by the Ministry of Investment and by the Jordanian Group Companies of Free Zones & Development Zones to work in all professions in investment projects owned by their families, and exempt them from the requirement as to obtainment of a work permit, in accordance with the legislations in force.
  • Allow spouses and children of non-Jordanian investors holders of investment cards issued by the Ministry of Investment and by the Jordanian Group Companies of Free Zones & Development Zones to work in all professions with any employer, in accordance with the procedures of the Jordanian Ministry of Labor and the legislations in force,

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.

Economic event: IBC Deputy Chairman & Secretary-General & IBC Members Participate in Draft Bill Debate on Regulating the Investment Environment At Jordan & Amman Chambers of Industry Headquarter

At the invitation extended by the Chairman of Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Engineer Fathi Al-Jaghbit, IBC Deputy Chairman & Secretary General, Dr. Saad Naji, and IBC members; Mr. Ahmad Al-Amili, Mr. Aqeel Al-Hadi, and businessmen; Mr. Ali Al-Khawam, Mrs, Niran Al-Hakim, Miss Abeer Mtasher, Representative of the Seven Seas Shipping & Clearance Company, and IBC Director General participated on Monday July 4th 2022 in the meeting held at the Headquarters of Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry to discuss a draft bill on Regulating the Investment Environment in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The meeting was attended H.E the Minister of Planning & International Cooperation, Mr. Nassir Al-Shraideh, H.E. the Minister of Investment, Dr. Khairi Amr, H.E. the Minister of Finance, Dr. Muhammad Al-Esis, H.E. the Minister of Industry & Trade & Supply, Mr. Yousif Al-Shemali, and the State Minister for Legal Affairs, Mrs., Wafa Beni Mustafa, and the General Commission for Industry Chambers in Jordan.

During the meeting, Engineer Fathi Al-Jaghbir, who chaired the meeting, affirmed that his contract aims at unifying the viewpoint of the Chambers of Industry towards the draft bill and the importance of participation of industrial investors in expressing their opinions in the laws and issues that affect the competitiveness of industrial investment.

Also, H.E the Minister of Planning & International Cooperation, Mr. Nassir Al-Shraideh, stressed the need to draft the law in line with the requirements of the Jordanian investment environment and in a way that is directly reflected on the local and foreign investors.

During the meeting, Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry presented several proposals and observations on the draft bill, which was discussed with the economic team of the Council of Ministers.

Also, H.E Minister Al-Shraida confirmed that the work plan has been approved to develop the legislative environment that regulate investment and included three main tracks; the fast track, which consists of creating one window to establish, register and license the economic activities, create one window to grant residence and work permits to expatriate workers and find a unified umbrella to control and inspect the economic activities, in addition to facilitating trade procedures and phased dealings with the major new investments, and the path of reducing costs and enhancing competitiveness, which consists of reducing electricity tariffs on several productive economic sectors.
