The Visiting Delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – Iraq Mission Hosts a Symposium
The visiting delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – Iraq Mission, and in coordination with IBC, hosted on IBC Hall – Swefiya a Symposium on the latest economic developments in Iraq and horizons of the territorial economy in the region. IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi welcomed the audience appreciating their attending this significant event.
The Head of IMF Mission to Iraq Mr. Carlo Sedralovitch gave a presentation on the most prominent challenges facing the Iraqi economy, the banking performance in Iraq, crude oil production and the rate of export, management of oil revenues and stability of the rate of exchange.
The representative of IMF Mission to Iraq and Yemen Dr. Ghazi Shbekat and member of the delegation visiting Jordan Mr. Francesco Baroudi were present on IMF side.
The Symposium was also attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas, the Swiss Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Michel Wenzeb, in addition to a number of dignitaries; the former President of the Constitutional Court Dr. Ratib Wazani, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Finland Embassy Mr. Rakan Irshedat, President of the Swiss Jordanian Business Club in Jordan Mr. Adnan Talhouni, Chairman of the Board of the Christian Community in Iraq Dr. Ghazi Ibrahim Rahho, in addition to a large number of Commercial Attaches in the Kingdom; the Romanian Commercial Attaché Mr. Flavius Apostelsco, the Belgium Commercial Attaché Mr. Patrick Lee Grel, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Commercial Department in the Egyptian Embassy in Jordan Mr. Muhammad Abdullah and his assistant, the Commercial Advisor of the Korean Commercial Consulate Mr. Ahmed Berqawi, the Economic Specialist at the United States Embassy Commercial Consulate Mrs. Sherine Azzizi, and representatives of the United Nations Agencies operating in Iraq; Miss Minna Kolokerk representing the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Also, a number of Economic Advisors of the Japanese Embassy in Jordan were present; Mr. Norimasa Youshida and Mr. Shenya Kwana, along with a number of Jordanian businessmen.
On IBC side, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, Board member Mr. Fakhri Rishan and IBC members; Mrs. Tamara Daghistani, Mr. Raed Allawi, Mr. Hassan Dahan, Mr. Halim Hadithi, in addition to IBC CEO and staff were present in the Symposium.
