The Future Leaders Committee (IBC Entrepreneurs Business Incubator) Held Dialogue Session entitled “The Reality of Entrepreneurship in Iraq”

The Future Leaders Committee (IBC Entrepreneurs business incubator), in cooperation with Shabab 21 Foundation for Community Development held on Tuesday May 8th 2018 on IBC Hall/1st floor a dialogue session entitled “The Reality of Entrepreneurship in Iraq”.

The session aimed at enhancing young people’s capabilities and developing their spirit of leadership, in which a work team of Future Leaders Committee and Shabab 21 Foundation for Community Development participated.

During the session, a number of young entrepreneurs; Mr. Muhammad Al-Homsi founder / partner and of Fanus firm and innovative guide in business community innovation of Tech Tribes Foundation, and Mr. Qusai Abu Shanab / founder, partner and CEO of Siddiq firm and recipient of “Badir Award” for social entrepreneurs and “Shabab for Change Award”, who is also a specialist in products development to effect community impact.

During the session, the guests discussed the essence of their experiences in civil and entrepreneurial work, the difficulties that encountered them and how they managed to overcome to establish their businesses and firms.

The topics of environment and leadership in Iraq were also discussed during the session.

The guests highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in such environments, as it is a fertile environment for such works, as well as the actual need for such works, which encourage many entrepreneurs to launch their ideas and projects that serve the society and provide them with income, leading at the end to sustainable development.

The session opened the door for further discussions between the participants and entrepreneurs on the concerns and difficulties that encounter the young entrepreneurs and prevent them from establishing their private projects.

The participants reviewed a number of success stories of Iraqi youths in Jordan, who were able through their endeavors and efforts to overcome many obstacles and difficulties

IBC Members Meet with the Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Faqeeh

IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, Board member Mr. Mumtaz Al-Taie and IBC members; Mrs. Hadeel Hassan, Mr. Omar Al-Tikriti and IBC CEO met on Monday May 7th, 2018 with the Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Faqeeh and his Deputy Mr. Essam Abdul Rahman Muhammad  at IBC offices.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Saad Naji welcomed the guests and IBC CEO presented a review on IBC activities and achievements realized by IBC on all levels.

On his part, the Sudanese Ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation for organizing this meeting, lauding the historical ties existing between Iraq and Sudan and the scientific and economic contributions achieved by Iraq throughout history.

He also talked about some promising sectors in Sudan, including the agriculture sector, especially the feedstock production which received wide interest and investments by the Gulf States,  and also the mining sector,  mainly gold and agricultural mining (such as phosphate and potash).

He also talked about the interest of the Sudanese Government as to shedding light on the oil sector and attracting investments to this significant sector.

Mr. Saad Naji called for organizing an economic seminar in collaboration with the Sudanese Embassy to acknowledge the available investment opportunities in Sudan and enhance cooperation between IBC members and their counterparts in Sudan.

At the end of the meeting the two sides exchanged thanks, and the Sudanese Ambassador Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Faqeeh was presented with IBC icon (the Sumerian Tree of Life).

The Ambassador expressed his admiration of its conception which is inspired by the Sumerian Civilization of Iraq.
