The visit of the Ambassador of the United States of America Alice Wells to the Iraqi Business Council

The Ambassador of the United States of America to Jordan Alice Wells and the Deputy Political Counselor Peter Shay and the Deputy Economic Attaché Ryan Palo visited the Ethnic Business Council on Monday 25/08/2015.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Iraqi Business Council welcomed Dr. Majed Al-Saadi, the ambassador and her accompanying delegation, reviewed the latest developments in Iraq at the economic level and the most important challenges facing investors and businessmen and the available investment opportunities in Iraq.

Dr. Majid Al-Saadi also spoke about the size of the investments of the Council members in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in all sectors and praised the efforts of the Jordanian government in supporting Iraqi investors in the Kingdom.

The members of the Council presented an overview of the achievements and facilities made by the Council and its continuous activities in support of the Iraqi community residing in Jordan in the economic, social and humanitarian fields.

For her part, US Ambassador Wells spoke of her desire to increase trade and economic cooperation with Iraq.

Ambassador Wells also heard during the meeting the members ’evaluation of the Iraqi government’s performance in economic reform, and stressed its desire to establish commercial and investment partnerships and to activate cooperation between American, Iraqi and Jordanian companies in various available fields.

The meeting was attended by the Council’s Vice President and Secretary of the Council Mr. Saad Naji, Vice President Mr. Turki Al-Qaisi, and a number of members of the administrative body, and they are: Eng. Jalal Al-Kaoud, Professor Makki Al-Faiz, Professor Ali Ghaleb, Mrs. Sunan Al-Khafaji and a number of members of the Council, namely: Professor Raed Al-Bayati, Professor Omar Al-Saadi and Professor Muhammad Al-Qaisi.
