IBC Holds an Introductory Workshop on (3+1) Study Program One-Year Foundation Study in Jordan & Three-Years Study in the United Kingdom

Included in IBC (Ibdaa) Cultural Program, an introductory workshop was organized on Thursday July 13th 2023 on IBC hall / 1st floor, in cooperation with Irbid Private University, on a (3+1) study program, a one-year foundation study in Jordan and three-year study in the United Kingdom covering all specializations and departments to obtain a bachelor’s degree, which was organized by Babyl Education Organization, the official representative of the International Foundation Group (IFG) / London.  During the workshop, the Academic Director of (IFG) in Iraq and Jordan, Prof. Rami Al-Hadithi, presented and overview on the study program (1+3) and the educational system approved in Britain, pointing to the  importance of the foundation year , at times, for graduate students from foreign programs and high schools who wish to obtain bachelor’s degrees in the British Universities, in the event that they do not meet the requirements and conditions required to study in those Universities.  He further reviewed the advantages that Babel Education Foundation will provide to graduate students in studying the foundation year in Jordan instead of London at low costs, with 100% guaranteed acceptance in British Universities in the bachelor’s degree program with the required specialization.  This was followed by queries raised by the attendees, in which the program’s CEO, Mr. Hassan Al-Hadithi, took part and reviewed the advantages offered by the program, the reasons why the program was launched in Jordan and Iraq, and answered queries of the attendees.  Dr. Muhammad Al-Baghdadi also participated in presenting the workshop and lauded the role of IBC in embracing scientific and cultural activities. The introductory workshop witnessed notable qualitative presence of academics, Heads of Unions and Universities.  On IBC side, the workshop was attended by IBC’s Vice President and Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, Board member Eng. Mekki Al-Faiz, IBC CEO Mrs. Abeer Al-Naib and staff.

On The Poet’s First Anniversary, IBC Cultural Program “Ibdaa” Recalls the Renowned Iraqi Poet Mudaffar Al-Nawab And Hosts the Signing Ceremony of “The Qurmati Poet, Mudaffar Al-Nawab.. Memories & Stances” By Journalist & Author Muhammad Al-Sayed Muhsin

In his first anniversary, IBC Cultural Program “Ibdaa” celebrated the renowned Iraqi poet Mudaffar Al-Nawab and hosted on Saturday August 20th 2022 the publicizing and signing ceremony of “The Qurmati Poet, Mudaffar Al-Nawab.. Memories & Stances” Book by the Iraqi journalist and author Muhammad Al-Sayed Muhsin at IBC hall (2nd floor).  The evening was steered by the Iraqi artist and poet Falah Hashim.  The book included the author’s memories with poet Al-Nawab, his journey with him, analysis of his poems, his poetic and political stances.  The author shed the light on some aspects of Al-Nawab’s life and cited some of his poems.  At the end of the ceremony, the author extended his thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi Business Council for hosting the activity including IBC Cultural Program “Ibdaa” and sponsoring the printing of this important book, which represents the main stages of the life of the renowned Iraqi poet Mudaffar Al-Nawab.

 

The ceremony was attended by a crowd of IBC guests including the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Jordan, Mr. Muneef Ali Hussein, a number of the Embassy staff and Jordanian MP HE Muhammad Daoudiyeh.  On IBC side, the ceremony was attended by IBC’s Vice President & Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, IBC Deputy Chairman Mr. Nazar Awji, Dr. Amila Naji, Mrs. Maha Al-Nuaimi, Mr. Ahmed Al-Beir, Dr. Bashar Abdul Rahman and a crowd of academics, intellects, media personalities, satellite TV channels, IBC CEO Mrs. Abeer Al-Naib and staff.

 

It is worth mentioning that poet Mudaffar Al-Nawab passed away on May 20th 2022 in the University Hospital in the Emirate of Sharjah after a long struggle with sickness, the body was flown to Iraq to be buried in the family’s cemetery in Najaf City.

IBC Hosts the Annual Ramadan Iftar Banquet – 2023

In order to strengthen the ties of amity and affinity in the holy month of love and forgiveness, and under the title “Ramadan unites Us with Bonds of Love and Goodness”, the Iraqi Business Council hosted the annual Ramadan Iftar in HoQQabaz Restaurant at the golden Gate Mall – Um Utheinah for IBC members and their families.  The Iftar event was attended by the Head of Mission of the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan, Mr. Muneef Ali Hussein, along with several Diplomats, Advisors, Attachés and Heads of Departments of the Iraqi Embassy.  On IBC part, the Iftar was attended by IBC President, Dr. Majid Sadi, IBC’s Vice President and Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, IBC’s Vice President, Mr. Nazar Awji, IBC Board members; Mr. Khalil Al-Bunniya, Mr. Ahmed Al-Sarraf and Mrs. Tamara Al-Daghistani, IBC members and their families, IBC guests and a crowd of academics, artists and media figures.

 

During his welcome speech, Dr. Sadi talked about the efforts exerted by the Iraqi Business Council to enhance economic cooperation between Iraq and Jordan, develop several projects, encourage trade exchange between the two countries, especially after the major positive development in the political, strategic and economic relations between the two countries, which was quite evident during the Jordanian – Iraqi Investment Conference held in the Iraqi Capital; Baghdad last February in terms of the massive presence, participation and the number of agreements signed on the sidelines of the Conference activities.  IBC member, Mr. Yasir Al-Rawi, owner of HoQQAabaz Restaurant, Zain Telecom Company, the strategic partner of the Iraqi Business Council, contributed to sponsoring this event.  It is noteworthy that since beginning of IBC establishment in Jordan, the members have been keen on making the Council the nucleus of an economic, cultural and humanitarian project reflecting the spirit of the era while keeping pace with modernity and economic development.

Signing of A Memorandum of Understanding Between The Iraqi Business Council & The Innovation Dom for Consultancy & Training

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Thursday March 30th 2023 in IBC offices between the Iraqi Business Council and the Innovation Dom for Consultancy and Training, a Jordanian institution concerned with sustainable development and provision of advisory and training services in several fields.  IBC’s Vice President and Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, signed the MOU on behalf of IBC, and on behalf of the Innovation Dom for Consultancy & Training the MOU was signed by its CEO and Advisor, Mr. Rany Al-Omari.  The MOU aims at planning, coordinating and managing the training and advisory activities and participation of the two sides in joint activities.

First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Mr. Muhsin Al-Mandalawi Receives members of IBC Delegation at his Residence (Amman Fairmont Hotel)

During his visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mr. Muhsin Al-Mandalawi, received on Monday March 20th 2023 at his place of residence in Amman Fairmont Hotel members of the delegation of the Iraqi Business Council in the presence of the Iraqi Charge d’Affaires, Mr. Muneef Ali Hussein.  During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker welcomed IBC members and expressed his thanks and appreciation for organizing the meeting.  Mr. Al-Mandalawi also affirmed the availability of major four investment opportunities for strategic projects in Iraq that will be announced soon, expressing his keenness in resolving obstacles facing investment and providing facilities for companies investing in Iraq.  For his part, IBC’s Vice President & Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, discussed the issue of renewal of Iraqi passports in the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan, which requires possession of renewed formal documentation, such as the Civil Status Identification Card and the Iraqi Nationality Certificate, that may not be available sometimes due to difficulties involved in traveling to Iraq for members of the Iraqi community, and the need to send a delegation from the Iraqi Interior Ministry to the Kingdom to issue the Unified Identification Cards  to members of the Iraqi community, as recently announced by the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan.  For his part, the Iraqi Charge d’Affairs, Mr. Muneef Ali Hussein, announced that recommendations have been submitted to the Iraqi Interior Minister on issuing the Unified Identification Cards through the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan, which have now been referred to the Technical Support Department at the Ministry to be issued in Amman after providing the required fingerprint devices.  IBC members and IBC’s Vice President also discussed issues relating to a number of important projects in Iraq and the importance of having preference for local companies that enjoy high professionalism to implement these projects.  At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged thanks on organising the meeting which was attended by IBC members; Engineer Turkey Al-Qaissi, Dr. Bashar Abdul Rahman, Mr. Muhammad Shanshal, Mr. Muhammad Turkey Al-Qaissi, Mr. Osama Al-Safi, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Safi and IBC Director General Mrs. Abeer Al-Naib.

Delegation of the Iraqi Ahli Bank & Capital Bank Group Meet with IBC Members

A delegation of the Iraqi Ahli Bank and Capital Bank Group; including the Managing Director, Mr. Ayman Abu Deheem, Executive Vice President, Mr. Nadeem Abwat, Head of Private Banking Services & Wealth Management, Mrs. Reema Shaban, Head of Private Investments, Mr. Raad Hijazin and Portfolio Manager of the Asset Management Department, Mr. Raed Al-Moumeny met on Sunday February 26th 2023 at IBC head offices with IBC’s Vice President and Secretary General, Dr. Saad Naji and IBC members; Mr. Ahmed Al-Amili, Dr. Faris Al-Safi, Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Tair, Mrs. Niran Al-Hakim, Mr. Dargham Al-Boulani, representatives of IBC member companies and IBC Director General Mrs. Abeer Al-Naib.

Dr. Saad Naji welcomed the guests and gave a brief overview of the Iraqi Business Council and its role in strengthening economic cooperation. Further, IBC members presented an overview on their companies and sectors. For his part, the Executive Vice President, Mr. Nadeem Abwat, expressed keenness of the Capital Bank Group and the Iraqi Ahli Bank to provide banking services and facilities to IBC members, reviewing the Group’s achievements such as increasing the customer base, capital and number of branches, totalling to 24 branches, with the 11 branches under construction. The Iraqi Ahli Bank, where Capital Bank Group owns a share of 62%, obtained a licence to open a branch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, Mr. Saad Naji and IBC members discussed a number of obstacles facing the financial sector in Iraq including; procedures of financial remittances for sold residential and commercial properties issued from Iraq to Jordan, delayed receipt of financial remittances by beneficiaries issued by the platform of the Iraqi Central Bank according to the resolutions of the Iraqi Prime Ministry recently applied. The Managing Director, Mr. Ayman Abu Duhaim, expressed readiness of the Iraqi Ahli Bank to facilitate procedures of remittances issued to beneficiaries outside Iraq, opening of letters of credit and letters of guarantee. Mr. Abu Duhaim also expressed readiness of Capital Bank Group to open accounts for Iraqi companies and branches of foreign companies in Jordan Capital Bank. During the meeting, the members proposed facilitating credits (Back to Back L/C), facilitating Letters of Credit to obtain financial facilities in order to speed the process of remittances. Representatives of Capital Investments Company, the investment arm of the Capital Bank Group, talked about the Company’s services in managing the assets, financial brokerage and advisory for companies, in addition to the Company’s readiness to provide innovative financial solutions for all investment activities. At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged thanks for organizing the meeting.

 

IBC Participates in the Activities of The Joint Jordanian – Iraqi Business Forum

Press release on the participation of the Iraqi Business Council in the launching of the activities of joint Jordanian – Iraqi Business Forum under the title “Partnership for Investment”, which was launched on Wednesday February 8th 2023 in the capital Baghdad in the presence and participation of Jordan Minister of Industry, Trade & Supply, Mr. Yousif Al-Shaamali, and the Iraqi Minister of Industry & Minerals, Dr. Khalid Bettal. IBC President and members participated in the activities of the Forum in the presence of members of the Iraqi Parliament, Presidents and representatives of the Chambers of Trade and Industry of the two countries, a large crowd of businessmen and investors, IBC CEO Mrs. Abeer Al-Naib and staff.

The Forum was chaired by IBC President, Dr. Majid Al-Sadi, where he discussed with the Jordanian and Iraqi Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Business Councils in Jordan and Iraq issues on the role of the private sector to boost trade relations between Iraq and Jordan. The Forum also included bilateral meetings among businessmen, followed by dinner banquet, during which IBC Chairman presented the Ministers, the Iraqi and Jordanian Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Presidents of the Business Councils with the “Shields of Economic Excellence” on behalf of the Iraqi Business Council.
