Launching of “ Al Wafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative

The Iraqi daily “Al-Sabah” in its issue of September 4th 2018, in addition to a number of news websites and social media sites published yesterday Monday September 3rd 2018 a press news on launching “Al-Wafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative in which IBC President and President of Iraq Reconstruction Forum Dr. Majid Saedi spoke about “Alwafaa Lil Basra” (Loyalty to Basra) Initiative and all that would be implemented in the next phase through this initiative to serve our people in Basra Province.

The press conference was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Engineer Mekki Al-Faiz and a large crowd of Iraqi and Jordanian media.

 

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.

The one who carried out the mission of founding is an elite of Iraqi businessmen of recognized competence and abilities. and since the Council’s inception in late 2006, members have worked towards efforts to support Iraqi investments in Jordan. as well as coordination and cooperation with official entities, to find solutions and proposals to overcome obstacles and constraints facing investors s economic, investment and trade cooperation between Jordan and Iraq.

Delegation of the Palestinian National Campaign Supporting Libraries of Mosul University Honors IBC Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary General

President of the Palestinian – Iraqi Friendship Society and members of the Palestinian National Campaign delegation supporting Libraries of Mosul University honored on August 14th, 2018, during their visit to IBC yesterday, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi, Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji with the Award of Excellence and Contribution for the efforts exerted by IBC to support the Campaign.

During the meeting, Dr. Saedi commended efforts of the Palestinian Authority headed by President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) and organizers of the Palestinian National Campaign to support Libraries of Mosul University and reviewed the most important economic, cultural, humanitarian and academic IBC activities and achievements on all levels and the programs launched by IBC to support Iraqi refugees.

On his part, President of the Palestinian – Iraqi Friendship Society and Head of the Palestinian National Campaign to Support Mosul University Libraries Mr. Saad Khalil gave a brief about the Campaign announcing that during the first phase of the Campaign about 10,000 quality books were collected, 5,000 of which were handed over to the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan.

The delegation also announced that there would be a complementary campaign adopted by the Palestinian government and the Palestinian Ministry of Education under the title “the Quarter Million Books Campaign” which is going to be launched at the beginning of the next semester to support Iraqi Universities and Research Centers in all Iraqi governorates.

Mr. Saad Naji also spoke about the programs launched by IBC within its social responsibility, being a member in the United Nations Global Compact which serves the local community, stressing the responsibility of the private sector to provide support and assistance to Iraqi refugees in Jordan and other countries.

He also reviewed IBC initiatives including donating 350 books and children magazines (benefiting children between 4 – 18 years of age) to the school of Iraqi refugees in Marka, in addition to other future campaigns.

The delegation of the Palestinian National Campaign elaborated on earlier campaigns that targeted vulnerable Iraqi families and other future campaigns to alleviate the suffering of Iraqi refugees.

During the meeting, members of the delegation also discussed means of cooperation in the economic and investment fields between Iraqi businessmen and the Palestinian Authority, whereas agreement was reached to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the competent economic authorities in Palestine and IBC to facilitate and promote economic cooperation between the two sides.

 

The Future Leaders Committee (IBC Entrepreneurs Business Incubator) In cooperation with Shabab 21 Foundation for Community Development Held Dialogue Session entitled “The Reality of Entrepreneurship in Iraq”

The Future Leaders Committee (IBC Entrepreneurs business incubator), in cooperation with Shabab 21 Foundation for Community Development held on Tuesday May 8th 2018 on IBC Hall/1st floor a dialogue session entitled “The Reality of Entrepreneurship in Iraq”.

The session aimed at enhancing young people’s capabilities and developing their spirit of leadership, in which a work team of Future Leaders Committee and Shabab 21 Foundation for Community Development participated.

During the session, a number of young entrepreneurs; Mr. Muhammad Al-Homsi founder / partner and of Fanus firm and innovative guide in business community innovation of Tech Tribes Foundation, and Mr. Qusai Abu Shanab / founder, partner and CEO of Siddiq firm and recipient of “Badir Award” for social entrepreneurs and “Shabab for Change Award”, who is also a specialist in products development to effect community impact.

During the session, the guests discussed the essence of their experiences in civil and entrepreneurial work, the difficulties that encountered them and how they managed to overcome to establish their businesses and firms.

The topics of environment and leadership in Iraq were also discussed during the session.

The guests highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in such environments, as it is a fertile environment for such works, as well as the actual need for such works, which encourage many entrepreneurs to launch their ideas and projects that serve the society and provide them with income, leading at the end to sustainable development.

The session opened the door for further discussions between the participants and entrepreneurs on the concerns and difficulties that encounter the young entrepreneurs and prevent them from establishing their private projects.

The participants reviewed a number of success stories of Iraqi youths in Jordan, who were able through their endeavors and efforts to overcome many obstacles and difficulties.

Visit of the Palestinian / Iraqi Friendship Society Delegation

The delegation of the Palestinian / Iraqi Friendship Society chaired by its President Mr. Saad Khalil, the Society Secretary General Mr. Assad Al-Nassir, Foreign Relations Officer Mrs. Nasra Qabalani, Treasurer Mr. Ahmed Abu Al-Jees and the Society Board members; Mr. Issa Tamim and Mr. Anwer Siyaer visited on Thursday December 7th, 2017 IBC offices.

The delegation arrived from Ramallah and was received by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji.  During the meeting, which was attended by the representative of the Palestinian President Mr. Mahmood Abbas (Abu Mazin) and a crowd of Palestinian officials, the visiting delegation discussed the launching of the Society in a large ceremony held at the Martyrs Cemetery in memory of the Iraqi martyrs who had fallen on the land of Palestine.

The President of the Society praised the victories achieved by the Iraqi Army over Daesh evil forces.  The delegation also expressed its desire to strengthen the Iraqi – Palestinian relations.

For his part, Mr. Saad Naji extended IBC congratulations on the establishment of this Society, expressing IBC readiness to support its activities including hosting an Iraqi Art exhibition in Ramallah and participation of the Society in the events hosted by IBC.

It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian – Iraqi Friendship Society takes the city of Ramallah as its headquarters, represents all Palestinian cities, all its members are graduates of Iraqi Universities and maintain good relations with the Iraqi society.  At the end of the meeting the delegation honored IBC with its shield.

IBC – Jordan Hosts A Condolence Gathering for the Leading Iraqi Theater Actor & People’s Artist – the Late Yousif Al-Ani

IBC – Jordan in cooperation with the Iraqi cultural, academic and social elites in Amman hosted on Tuesday October 18th 2016 on Khalil Al-Rahman Society Hall (Al-Madina Al-Munawara Str.) a condolence gathering for the leading Iraqi theater actor and people’s actor – late Yousif Al-Ani.

The gathering was attended by a large crowd of Iraqi and Jordanian social, academic, cultural and popular elites in an expression of sorrow and sadness on the passing away of the prominent Iraqi artist.

Several Satellite TV Channels, news agencies and journalists covered this event.

A large number of contemporary Iraqi artists took part in this event, bearing in mind that IBC represented by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Al Sadi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, Vice President Mr. Nazar Awchi, Vice Chairman Engineer Jalal Qaoud and Board members; Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, Mr. Ali Ghalib, Mr. Khalil Al-bunniya and Mr. Mumtaz Al-Taie received the crowd of condolers.

Al-Khuld Studies Centre & Peace Ambassadors Organization Honor IBC

On Tuesday October 4th, 2016 IBC was honored for the second time in a special ceremony hosted by Al-Khuld Studies Centre and Peace Ambassadors Organization, as well as a group of renowned Iraqi scientists, innovators and pioneers who set a distinct imprint in different aspects of life such as humanitarian, medical, scientific, artistic and economic aspects.
The number of honorees was 32 figures including Patriarch Rafael Saco, Dr. Ali Faraj Al-Saleh and Dr. Nabil Al-Mukhtar.

For the scientific side Dr. Ihsan Fathi, Designer Hana Sadiq, Artist Ibrahim Al-Abdali and other innovators were honored, and IBC – Jordan was on the lead in the economic aspect.

IBC Members Participate in the International Conference on (Media’s Role in Combating Terrorism & Extremism – Virtual Media; the New Weapon of Terrorism)

IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and IBC Social Responsibility Advisor Dr. Amila Naji participated on Tuesday September 27th 2016 in the opening ceremony of the International Conference on the (Media’s Role in Combating Terrorism and Extremism – Virtual Media; the New Weapon of Terrorism) organized by the Arab Authority for Satellite Broadcasting under auspices of the Arab League held at Amman – Royal Hotel.

During the opening session of the Conference, the speakers emphasized the need for rational strategies to enable the media to act as a tool for confrontation as well as becoming means of propaganda to prevent terrorist groups from realizing their goals and desires.

The speakers indicated that the gravity of the threat posed by the terrorist attack on the homeland and citizen’s life works on increasing the public’s desire to recognize the source of this threat and ways of avoiding it.

They further said that there are moral, psychological, economic and social disastrous consequences caused by terrorists operations which work on the eagerness of the media to study these effects and raise the public awareness. They deemed that the exciting character of the terrorist event itself enriched by the unexpectedness, gravity, out of the ordinary, conflict, effects, consequences and active figures, which characteristics work on turning the terrorist event to a full exciting and attractive drama.

The speakers pointed out that terrorism’s need for media is clear and is manifested through the videos posted by the terrorist groups which are characterized by adopting various elements of excitement and high quality production that had met with wide interest on the sides of media and public alike due to the high techniques used in filming and production of these videos.

The opening session was concluded on emphasizing the importance and seriousness the impact of this phenomenon.

In light of the participatory responsibility, the Arab Authority of Joint Satellite Broadcasting based on the invitation of the Arab League and Civil Society Institutions, urged towards addressing the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism in its various forms.
This Conference, organized by the Arab Authority of Satellite Broadcasting under auspices of the Arab States League, is the Authority’s second conference in its effort to highlight the most prominent characteristic of the media address to terrorism and extremism phenomenon.

The Conference was attended by the Head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Hmeym, the Arab League Assistant Secretary General Dr. Hayfa Abu Ghazala, Head of Information and Communication Sector, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil in addition to a large crowd of diplomatic and economic dignitaries.

Celebration of the signing of the renewal of the Schengen agreement with the French embassy

Members of the Iraqi Business Council met with His Excellency the French Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Caroline Duma, at the headquarters of the Iraqi Business Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, welcomed d. Majed Al-Saadi, the ambassador and the guests, presented an overview of the activities of the Iraqi Business Council and the achievements it had achieved since its establishment.

A meeting with a number of representatives of French companies present in Jordan, and then organizing an Iraqi trade delegation visit to France to meet with French companies interested in entering the Iraqi market, and then discussed the renewal of the Schengen agreement that the council concluded two years ago with the French embassy in Jordan

As the two parties agreed to start the procedures for reviewing the terms of the agreement to be signed by the two parties, and at the end of the meeting, each of Dr. Majed Al-Saadi and the Greek Ambassador thanked him for this meeting and the President of the Council presented a souvenir to the French Ambassador.

The meeting was attended on the side of the embassy, ​​the economic advisor to the French embassy, ​​Mr. Vincent Toussaint, and on the council’s side were Mr. Saad Naji, Secretary and Vice-Chairman of the Council Mr. Turki Al-Qaisi, Vice Chairman of the Council.
