IBC Members Meet with the Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Faqeeh

IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, Board member Mr. Mumtaz Al-Taie and IBC members; Mrs. Hadeel Hassan, Mr. Omar Al-Tikriti and IBC CEO met on Monday May 7th, 2018 with the Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Faqeeh and his Deputy Mr. Essam Abdul Rahman Muhammad  at IBC offices.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Saad Naji welcomed the guests and IBC CEO presented a review on IBC activities and achievements realized by IBC on all levels.

On his part, the Sudanese Ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation for organizing this meeting, lauding the historical ties existing between Iraq and Sudan and the scientific and economic contributions achieved by Iraq throughout history.

He also talked about some promising sectors in Sudan, including the agriculture sector, especially the feedstock production which received wide interest and investments by the Gulf States,  and also the mining sector,  mainly gold and agricultural mining (such as phosphate and potash).

He also talked about the interest of the Sudanese Government as to shedding light on the oil sector and attracting investments to this significant sector.

Mr. Saad Naji called for organizing an economic seminar in collaboration with the Sudanese Embassy to acknowledge the available investment opportunities in Sudan and enhance cooperation between IBC members and their counterparts in Sudan.

At the end of the meeting the two sides exchanged thanks, and the Sudanese Ambassador Dr. Al-Sadiq Al-Faqeeh was presented with IBC icon (the Sumerian Tree of Life).

The Ambassador expressed his admiration of its conception which is inspired by the Sumerian Civilization of Iraq.

 

The Iraqi Business Council delegation meets the invitation of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco

Dr. Majid Al-Saadi, Chairman of the Iraqi Business Council, and Mr. Saad Naji, Vice-President, Secretary and General Director of the Council, answered the invitation of His Excellency the Moroccan Ambassador to Jordan Muhammad Sari to visit the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco – Shmeisani, on Tuesday 10/31/2017.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Moroccan Ambassador expressed his thanks and gratitude for accepting the invitation, stressing the depth of the historical relations linking Iraq and the Kingdom of Morocco, wishing that security and safety would prevail over Iraq after the victories it had achieved against the forces of evil and terrorist darkness.

For his part, Dr. Majid Al-Saadi reviewed the activities of the Council in the economic fields and its support for strategic investment projects, including the Iraqi-Jordanian oil export pipeline, as well as the importance of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, which was launched by the governments of Iraq and Saudi Arabia to enhance economic cooperation between the Iraqi and Saudi private sectors.

Mr. Saad Naji indicated during the meeting that the Council’s members are a group of economic leaders from Iraqi businessmen and investors who have achieved success stories in the fields of investment and implementation of important projects in many sectors in Iraq, Jordan and other countries.

During the meeting, His Excellency the Ambassador promised to approve the letters of support issued by the Council to its members who wish to obtain an entry visa to Morocco (visas).

At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged thanks and the icon of the Council (the Sumerian Tree of Life) was presented as a memorial gift to His Excellency the Moroccan Ambassador.

IBC Delegation Accepts the Invitation Extended by the Moroccan Ambassador to Jordan

IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saard Naji and IBC CEO accepted on Tuesday October 31st 2017 the invitation extended by the Moroccan Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Muhammad Sitri to visit the Moroccan Embassy at Shmesani.

At the beginning of the meeting the Moroccan Ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation for accepting the invitation, stressing the deep historic relationships existing between Iraq and the Kingdom of Morocco, wishing that peace and security would prevail in Iraq after the remarkable victories achieved by the Iraqi armed forces over the terrorist evil forces.

On his part, Dr. Majid Saedi reviewed IBC activities in the economic fields and its support for the strategic investment projects including the Iraqi – Jordanian Oil Export Pipeline.

Dr. Sadi also talked about the importance of the Iraqi – Saudi Coordination Council launched by the governments of Iraq and Saudi Arabia to promote economic cooperation between the Iraqi and Saudi private sectors.

Also during this meeting, Mr. Saad Naji pointed out that IBC members are a group of economic leaderships of Iraqi businessmen and investors who achieved success in investment and implementation of key projects in many sectors in Iraq, Jordan and other countries.

During the meeting, the Ambassador promised to adopt the support letters that IBC issues to its members who wish to obtain entry visas to Morocco.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged thanks and IBC Icon (the Sumerian Tree of Life) was presented as a souvenir to the Moroccan Ambassador.

IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Al Sadi Congratulates the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Faisal Bin Turkey Al-Saud

On the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Al Sadi extended congratulations to the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan HRH Prince Khalid Bin Faisal Bin Turkey Al-Saud, which was attended by a number of Princes, Ministers, key Jordanian officials, Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Jordan and a number of journalists.

His Royal Highness delivered a speech on this occasion which reflected the deep correlations existing between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the strong ties and solid historic relations rooted in the depths of history that can be witnessed through the wise policies adopted by both Kingdoms through continuous communication and exchange of opinions concerning various issues which come together in all regional and international movements.

 

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.

The one who carried out the mission of founding is an elite of Iraqi businessmen of recognized competence and abilities. and since the Council’s inception in late 2006, members have worked towards efforts to support Iraqi investments in Jordan.

as well as coordination and cooperation with official entities, to find solutions and proposals to overcome obstacles and constraints facing investors s economic, investment and trade cooperation between Jordan and Iraq.

Visit of the Secretary General of the Arab Economic Unity Council

On the sidelines of the “Small & Medium Enterprises : The Road Towards Economic Growth” Forum organized by the Arab Banks Union, the Secretary General of the Arab Economic Unity Council / Arab League, HE Ambassador Muhammad Muhammad Al-Rabie visited IBC on Thursday August 27th 2016 and was received by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi and IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji. During this meeting the Ambassador reviewed the state of the Arab economy and joint Arab projects emanated from the Arab Economic Unity Council, and also reviewed, within the joint Arab projects, the idea of establishing a tourist Arab company that include the public and private sectors from all Arab States.

For his part, Dr. Majid Saedi spoke of IBC’s role in supporting the private sector through the establishment of an advisory board from the private sector that offers ideas and suggestions to the Iraqi government.

The Ambassador expressed his full support to establish such council and the readiness of the Arab Economic Unity Council to participate in any conference organized by IBC in this context.

IBC Chairman & Members Meet the South African Ambassador to Iraq and Jordan at IBC Headquarters

The Ambassador of South Africa Republic to Jordan and Iraq Mr. John Davis and the Embassy’s Commercial and Political Advisor Mr. Shaun Watson met on Sunday March 3rd 2015 at IBC Headquarters with IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and IBC Board members; Mr. Mekki Al-Faiz, Mr. Fakhri Reshan, Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi’s representative, and IBC members; Mr. Usama Al-Shimmeri, Mrs. Tamara Daghistani and IBC CEO.

At the beginning of the meeting, IBC Chairman welcomed the South African Ambassador and the Commercial and Political Advisor providing a brief presentation on the investment environment in Iraq and the key reconstruction sectors.

He also reviewed IBC activities, the volume of Iraqi investment in Jordan and the key specializations of IBC members-owned companies.

Dr. Sadi proposed organization of mutual trade visits between IBC members and their South African counterparts, as well as organizing a specialized fair in Basra / Iraq and Amman / Jordan to exhibit South African products and increase the volume of trade exchange.

On his part, the South African Ambassador stressed the important role of IBC in facilitating and promoting the trade relationships and his keenness on expanding relationships with IBC members-owned companies.

Also, he welcomed the suggestions proposed by Dr. Saedi and expressed his readiness to render facilities to Iraqi investors such as issuance of entry visas to the Republic of South Africa for IBC members

 

Consultative Meeting between IBC Members & The Romanian Parliament Deputy Mr. Ovedio Raiche

A consultative meeting was held today Sunday 31/8/2014 at IBC Headquarters between a number of IBC members and the Romanian Parliament Deputy Mr. Ovedio Raiche in the presence of the Romanian Embassy Commercial Attaché Mr. Flavius Apostelisco and the Head of the Romanian Embassy Foreign Affairs Department in Jordan Mr. Leonardo Serninor.

At the beginning of the meeting IBC Vice Chairman and Board member Mr. Turkey Al-Qaisi welcomed the attendees and gave a presentation on IBC activities and achievements, the investment environment in Iraq, the latest economic developments and agreements concluded between Iraq and Romania.

Also, IBC members discussed with the visiting delegation issues relating to facilitating the procedures pertaining to visits of trade delegations to Romania to acknowledge the available investment opportunities.

On his part, the Romanian Parliament Deputy Mr. Ovedio Raiche, also the founder of STAGORA Project that aims at enhancing the trade relations between Romania, the Middle East countries and the Gulf States, spoke of the role of this Project in promoting trade relations, stressing the desire of the Romanian Government in inviting IBC delegation to attend the Economic Forum on this Project scheduled to be held in Romania beginning of 2015.

A formal invitation will be addressed by the Romanian Parliament to IBC members to participate in the Forum.

On IBC side, the meeting was attended by IBC members; Mrs. Tamara Daghistani and Mr. Hassan Al-Dahhan, in addition to IBC CEO

 

IBC Members Meet with the Greek Ambassador Mrs. Maria Luisa Marinaki

IBC members met with the Greek Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Maria Luisa Marinaki and the Greek Embassy Commercial Attach Mrs. Mary Areti at IBC Headquarters in Swefiya.  At the beginning of the meeting, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi welcomed the Greek Head of Mission and the present guests, delivering brief presentation on IBC activities and its accomplishments since its foundation, and proposed establishment of a mechanism of cooperation on the exchange of information and knowledge and organizing mutual visits for trade delegations of the two sides.

IBC Chairman further extended an invitation to the Greek Ambassador and the Greek Companies interested in accessing the Iraqi market to attend “The Future of Energy in Iraq” Conference which is scheduled to be held in Amman under sponsorship of IBC from 18th – 20th May 2014.

Dr. Saedi also elaborated on the “Oil Export Pipeline Project from Basra – Aqaba” Project which is considered a major investment opportunity for international companies, calling on active participation of the Greek Companies in this Project.

On her part, the Greek Ambassador praised the close ties existing between the two countries and the projects implemented in Iraq years ago by a number of Greek Companies in the field of infrastructure.

The Ambassador also emphasized her keenness in attracting Iraqi investors specialized in a number of sectors including the real estate investments and revival of tourism sector in Greece.

She further elaborated on the activities and achievements of the Greek Investment Agency who facilitates the investment procedures in Greece, and stressed on the necessity of maintaining communication with the Agency’s Officials to explore more investment opportunities.

Towards the end of the meeting, Dr. Sadi and the Greek Ambassador exchanged appreciation and gratitude for organizing the meeting, and a gift from IBC was presented to the Greek Head of Mission.

IBC Members Meet with the French Ambassador to Jordan At IBC Head Quarters

IBC members met with the French Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Caroline Dumas at IBC Headquarters in Swefiya.

At the beginning of the meeting, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi welcomed the French Ambassador and the present guests giving a brief presentation on IBC activities and achievements since its foundation.

On her part, the French Ambassador expressed her interest in promoting trade relationships with Iraqi investors; especially the small and medium businesses in a number of sectors.

She further called on IBC members to attend a meeting scheduled to be held with a number of representatives of the French Companies in Jordan to be followed by a visit of the Iraqi trade delegation to France to meet with the French companies interested in accessing the Iraqi market.

Also, issues relating to the renewal of the Shengen Visa Agreement that IBC had concluded two years ago with the French Embassy in Jordan were discussed.

The two parties agreed on the procedures pertaining to reviewing the terms of the Agreement to be signed by both parties.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Majid Sadi and the French Ambassador exchanged appreciation on holding the meeting and IBC Chairman presented the French Ambassador with a gift.
