IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi Talks about the “Economic Dilemma in Iraq and the Strategies of Solutions”

Chairman of the Iraqi Business Council Dr. Majid Saedi participated on Wednesday July 15th 2020 in the electronic scientific symposium titled the “Economic Dilemma in Iraq and the Strategies of Solutions” via ZOOM application.

The symposium was held under patronage of the Head of Qadissiya University Dr. Kadim Jabir Al-Jubouri, in cooperation with the Universities of Baghdad, Tikrit, Wasit and Hamdaniay and the Iraqi Business Council.

The discussions were guided by Dr. Abdul Kareem Jabir Sheljar / Professor of Economics at Qadissiya University. During the session Dr. Saedi talked about the origin of the economic dilemma in Iraq, which lies in the absence of a clear economic policy and the revenue-generating economy as well as the absence of investment projects, and therefore the strategic solutions to the Iraqi economy must address the origin of the economic dilemma in Iraq.

Accordingly, Dr. Saedi elaborated on his strategic solutions to the Iraqi economy, which were entirely; restructuring the economic system in Iraq, reinforcing the Iraqi currency and the rate of exchange, facilitating procedures relating to investment projects and protecting the investor, using and profiting from other natural resources to support the national income.

Noting that Dr. Saedi’s session was included in the electronic workshop that was held over three days from 14th to 16th July 2020 and was divided into three themes; the first theme was titled “the Compound Crisis” by Dr. Hussein Latif, the second theme “the Economic Dilemma in Iraq and Strategies of Solutions”, about which Dr. Saedi talked, while the third theme was titled “the Strategies of Reform in the Iraqi Political Mind”.

The electronic workshop was characterized by its strategic nature, as it did not stop by the immediate solutions, but rather proceeded beyond to strategic solutions.
